Everything points, according to Mark Gurman, that the AirPods 4 will see the light of day next month, we do not know if at the iPhone presentation itself, at a different one, or directly through a press release, publishing in the official store without prior notice, something that Apple also tends to do quite a lot.
And Apple may not want to cover up the launch of its two-star products, the iPhone 16 and the Apple Watch X, so we won’t have much news about it, since we won’t see a very big change in them either, what we do know (or believe), is that there will be AirPods 4 in September.
AirPods 4 launching in September
The first thing to note is that yes, there will be a launch of two different models, but only of AirPods 4, that is, the Pro version will not be touched, and for now we will have to wait if what we are looking for is to renew that range.
Within the normal AirPods, we will see those 2 versions we talked about, one being better than the other. So we would have a basic, and cheaper, level, and a medium level, which although not close to the Pro, will be quite interesting.
One of the most notable features, if all is true, is the implementation of noise cancellation in the mid-range AirPods 4, something that only the Pro had, and which may make many people opt for them.
Since 2021 when the AirPods 3 came out, we have not had any more launches, so it has been practically 3 years without news, which will make us see another one, and that is the implementation of the USB-C connector , leaving aside the lightning.
There isn’t much more information on this yet, we’ve never had 2 different ranges within the same AirPods product, so the name is a mystery. They may be called AirPods 4 lite, and 4 normal, or even give another name to the basic range, like the SE of the iPhone.
The price is also a mystery, and while the mid-range will be around the price of the current AirPods 3 since we will leave the more expensive ones for the future Pro, we do not know what the cost of the basic one will be, because we can even buy new AirPods 2 currently, on sale, for less than 100 euros, so if they want to compete with these and leave the previous versions behind, we would like to see a price of 129 euros, or something similar, although we will have to see what they are like first.
And you, have you been waiting for a while to get a new model of AirPods, or are the ones you have now more than enough?
The truth is that I am still using the second generation, and I am very happy, although it is time to change. If these two new models have interesting new features, they may be my next headphones, although launching them at the same time as an iPhone and an Apple Watch is a bit risky, the budget of many will be mainly oriented towards these two devices, which we do know are going to be released for sure.
